L'Oreal's New Vegan-Friendly Line of Hair Care

While any product can claim to be 100% vegan and cruelty-free (there are no government restrictions or guidelines to determine this yet so companies can pretty much claim whatever they want) I have to give props to L’Oreal.  They recently signed PETA’s Statement of Assurance that their new Ever Pure line is vegan-friendly.  Check out the article at http://living.peta.org/2009/ever-pure-the-vegan-line-by-loreal.

            This isn’t to say I still don’t have issues with their manipulative marketing campaign that makes women feel “worth it” and “authentic” only if they’re wearing L’Oreal makeup, but it is a step in the right direction.  After all, you are worth a line of hair care products with better, cruelty-free ingredients.  Now if only they can extend this new Ever Pure philosophy to the rest of their products…
